Book has some really neat info all throughout. However, the author is clearly a democrat or a liberal because there are a lot of references to the US taking over countries just for oil or why invading Iraq was a bad idea etc. Why is this necessary? Leave the politics out and just stick to the facts of the states and their history. It’s why people buy the book. Not to read political commentary.
Great idea specifically with focusing on the geography/cartography. The historical narrative can be further expanded but it works for at-a-glance situations.
