He suggested that they instead help the people get jobs and become self-sufficient and Bailey gave him the statistics on what percent were blue-collar workers already earning a living for their families. He returned statistics to her on the number of shootings, stabbings, and drug arrests. Neither of them would back down. But the bottom line was that he had a client who purchased the land and had plans for it. Her indignation didn’t change that fact.As sirens sounded, two of the protesters began to destroy Colin’s car with hammers and shovels – the car he had bought with his own money through hard work and sacrifice. It had meant something to him. Then they attacked him as Bailey stared in horror at their actions. Colin defeated both men, but he was furious. He told her that he held her personally responsible for what happened, and as the cop took her arm and led her away, he ignored her pleading look and said nothing. This is far from over… but where will they go from here?I don’t know how he does it, but this author consistently writes amazingly good books with a strong story line that captures the reader’s attention from the very start. The characters are brought to life, right in front of your eyes. The snappy dialog is absolutely perfect! Colin and Bailey’s story is filled with all kinds of strong emotions which will bring the reader right into the heart of things. Be ready for an emotional ride that will leave you breathless to the end!
I don't know how RR Banks continuously writes such terrific books, but he does! I have read every book in the Anderson Brothers Series, the latest Book 4 Just Pretend and I must say each is as good as the next and I would recommend reading all four books, but most definitely recommend one-clicking Just Pretend! While I know not everyone writes positive reviews, I certainly don't understand the less than positive 5-Star reviews for Just Pretend. The storyline and plot were well written and will have you hooked, the snarky & witty banter between Bailey & Colin is top notch & this one encompasses a range of emotions that will have you feeling as if you know Bailey & Colin and pulling for them. The way the author has Colin supporting Bailey even with all their differences makes this an exceptional read. And, what it does to Colin's alpha sexy character simply swoon-worthy, will have readers wishing he was real.....and available! Definitely Recommend One-Clicking and reading another exceptional book, Just Pretend by RR Banks.While I did receive an advance copy, ARC, from the author, I also purchased the book Just Pretend and am voluntarily leaving my voluntary opinion & review.
If you are looking for a book that really capture the truemeaning of this time of year than this is it.The way the story is told it will involve so many of your emotions .I found this book was a very hard book to put down.Fantastic plot and the characters definitely came to life on the pages.
I can’t say enough good things about Just Pretend. The book was a fast paced amazing story about Two people who had chemistry off the charts . I loved everything about this book and highly recommend reading it ! I’ve read it twice already and bought it because I intend on reading it again! R.R. Banks' Just Pretend is the fourth and last story about the Anderson Brothers. As much as I enjoyed the three previous stories, I simply loved this one.Colin's story is fantastic, emotional and steamy.I voluntarily reviewed an Advanced Readers Copy of this book.
I really enjoyed this holiday romance by R. R. Banks. The characters are interesting, well-developed and have chemistry. The story is interesting, well-written with a happily ever after. In addition to receiving an arc, I purchased the book for my collection.
The conflict between ideologies of the main characters was interesting and engaging. Colin's appreciation for the plight of the homeless of Boston, the poor and disenfranchised, make a change of mind and heart very compelling.The sex scenes are well done with exception of the first. Strange really.Just needed more character development.Good start for a potential great book.
This was a great read! I’m pretty sure it’s part of a series, but it’s also a stand alone novel. I finished it in a few hours. Awesome!
