When Woodrow Wilson was almost four years old, he was playing outside his home in Augusta, Georgia. A man rushed by. He was shouting the news that Abraham Lincoln had been elected president, and war was coming. The little boy ran inside to ask his father what it all meant. His father explained that Northern states were going to fight against Southern states. (Wilson would later say that this was his earliest memory as a child.)Sure enough, a few months later, the bitter Civil War broke out in 1861. It lasted four years.

I bought several of the books about our presidents for my 8 year old grandson. He is obsessed with the subject and is happy to tell me all that I don't remember or never knew. So I get a book review every time he reads one. Lots of fun having something to talk about with him and he isn't staring at one of those hand held games all the time.

This series is absolutely wonderful and a great way for students to learn about all the wonderful, talented, dedicated, and interesting people both in history and today. This book on President Wilson lived up to my expectations. I purchased it in the gift shop of The Woodrow Wilson Presidential Library and Birthplace in Staunton, Virginia this past summer. What a wonderful place to visit and I learned so much about him. I am a retired special ed teacher and a private tutor and I used the book with my students as well as other information I gathered during my visit. My students adore these books and Woodrow Wilson was no exception. The facts are presented so well they don't mind the reading involved and that is feat unto its self!!! Even I find facts I didn't know in every book! Who knew Woodrow Wilson could be so interesting!

This series is fabulous! These are short, fun, quick reads filled with TONS of information. Although geared toward the 3rd-6th grade student, I have read these aloud to my younger children, pausing now and again to answer questions & find that they too enjoy these books. Great for independent reading, history assignments, or research papers. Would highly recommend these books.

this book is really good. i enjoyed his life story and the artwork is really amazing too

Great biography series that all kids will enjoy. My students (4th grade) can't seem to put them down. I've had them in my room for the last few years and they just eat them up. The content is easy to understand and it provides great information on each person/topic along with a timeline in the back. Great for parents and teachers alike.

I buy for my grandson, who knows all the presidents plus there familys

It was straight and to the point, whilst still giving all important details. It is very good for school book reports/studying.

This book gives a quick overview of the president's life.
